Calgary Immigration, Wills and Estate Planning Lawyer, Russ Weninger (firstname.lastname@example.org)
We are concerned about keeping our clients (and staff) safe from COVID-19. In most cases, we will be arranging things so that clients can avoid coming to the office. We are currently exploring office procedures that will enable us to provide no-contact or minimal contact services to clients, such as Skype or Zoom consultations, "drive-thru wills", and "drive-thru notarizations". Due to a recent temporary change to Alberta law, we can now also offer virtual (video conference) witnessing of wills.
Our office suite is locked and won't be opened unless someone has a scheduled appointment.
We would ask that all clients who are feeling ill (which includes any cold or flu symptoms and symptoms associated with COVID-19, such as sneezing, coughing, fever, chills, body aches, runny nose, loss of smell, or trouble breathing) avoid coming to our office. Also, if you have traveled outside of Alberta within the last 14 days, please let us know before booking your appointment. As well, please let us know if you are bringing extra people to your appointment. Extra people who have not been cleared by us in advance will be turned away. We would ask that you not bring children, family members or friends to our office unless their attendance at our office is necessary for your legal matter.
For our part, any Weninger Zhang staff member (including any lawyer) who is feeling ill or who is suspected of having the novel coronavirus will be instructed to remain at home. So far, our staff remain healthy and there is no evidence of infection from the virus. We would ask people attending our office not to shake our hands and to wash their hands before and after coming to our office. These steps are important precautions to keep everyone safe and to allow us to continue to serve you in the coming weeks and months. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Located in the Northwest quadrant of Calgary, I am a lawyer, practicing primarily in the areas of immigration law and wills and estate planning. I am part of a firm (Weninger Zhang, Lawyers and Notaries Public) that engages in most common areas of legal practice, including business law, wills and estates, residential real estate, Canadian immigration law, family law, personal injury law, general litigation, and notarizations.
A large portion of my practice is providing will and estate planning services, such as preparing wills, enduring powers of attorney and personal directives. I also offer estate administration services, and help executors apply for probate.
As an immigration lawyer, I have experience with most of the federal immigration streams, provincial nominee applications (particular the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program), family sponsorship applications, refugee claims, and applications based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Additionally, I assist clients in applying for temporary residence as visitors, workers, and students. I also have experience appearing before the various Immigration and Refugee Board tribunals, including the RPD, the RAD, the ID, and the IAD, and have represented clients at the Federal Court of Canada on judicial reviews of immigration decisions.
I am also a notary public and a commissioner for oaths.
I believe that Calgary is a great place to live and I am proud to offer my legal services to those who have chosen to make Calgary their home. Whether you require an immigration lawyer or other legal services, I would be happy to be your lawyer. Please contact me at (403) 456-3977 or at email@example.com to book an appointment.
